“We renovated a 38 year old house.
Recently, the houses I design for work have been pushed by kitchen panels and there are fewer and fewer places to use tiles, which I find very boring. So I decided to go all out with tile, which I love in my home.
I think the appeal of tile is its unparalleled coloring and the unevenness of color that only pottery can produce.
This water lily has a great atmosphere, not only because of the uneven coloring, but also because of the varying glaze sheen.
This was a self-renovation project, and since it was an amateur job, some of the joints did not line up or were not consistent, but this did not detract from the quality of the tiles at all, and in fact, I am very satisfied with the old European country atmosphere and the relaxed feeling I was able to create.
I hope there will be more attractive tiles like this.”
